Leaders and decision makers from the resort timeshare industry met in Portsmouth, New Hampshire for the 2008 ARDA New England Regional Meeting. Sell My Timeshare Now, Internet advertising and marketing, specializing in the resale of timeshare and timeshare rental, was among the participants as the group discussed how the timeshare industry can play an active role in bridging the environment.

Ray Sirois, IT Manager of Wright-Pierce, a civil engineering firm in Topsham, ME, is one of about 2000 people worldwide who are trained to give presentation on climate change that gave Al Gore in his documentary, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. Sirois began the conference with an eye-opening program called, “The Suitable Solution: Learning to Be Green ‘
The weather was learned that representatives:
* Nine of the last ten years have been the hottest in history.
* At the current rate of carbon emissions into the atmosphere, Massachusetts has the same climate of today’s South Carolina and sea level will rise 2 feet from the end of the century.
* Nationally, electricity production is the number one contributor to greenhouse gases, but in New England, is transport.
* The Princeton researchers estimate that carbon emissions could be halved by 2050 using technologies that already exist, but we must put in place. The solution must include a combination of technologies (wind, solar, etc.), because the problem is so large and so pervasive.
Among those attending were executives of Dover, NH based on the resale of timeshare and timeshare rental leader, Sell My Timeshare Now. President and CEO, Jason Tremblay said: “There are simple lifestyle changes we can all do that will have a dramatic effect on the protection of our environment. Timeshare companies are learning to do what we must do all industries - make the effort, and make changes. The future depends on it. ”
Some of the simple but effective changes discussed at the conference were based on a case study on the environment in policies put in place at the Inn of the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. These efforts include changes in the water and use of chemicals, and solid waste disposal; switching to more drought tolerant landscaping, the use of recycled materials in construction and SHEETROCK studs in conversion; facility aireadores water in the taps to conserve water and soap supply bags for customers to take home with soap.
Noting that gas prices may make this summer the unity of their holiday destination, and that the theme parks and other regional attractions are preparing to anticipate what will be a booming season, the high population density states New England can see the registration numbers of people in timeshare resorts and hotels. There are over 1600 timeshare resorts in the U.S., with 11 percent of them located in the Northeast. Massachusetts leads resorts with 46, followed by New Hampshire, which has 28 timeshare resorts.
Jason Tremblay offers this budget-wise counsel, “With more than 4.6 million timeshare owners in the U.S. is always an option to rent timeshare directly from the current owner. You save your own holiday costs and helping another family during these difficult economic times. You can enjoy a substantial saving in time-share rentals, and vacation near his home, will help reduce fuel consumption. ”
